陜西省譯協(xié)簡介，陜西翻譯協(xié)會成立于1980年，是全國成立最早的翻譯學(xué)術(shù)團體?，F(xiàn)有會員超過2000人，涉及15個語種。作為一個非贏利、非政府組織，陜西譯協(xié)自成立以來，一直致力于學(xué)術(shù)研究，對外交流和各種公益事業(yè)。

如與美國明州的環(huán)球志愿者組織合作開發(fā)的義務(wù)服務(wù)項目，近十年來在西安已接待了100多個美國志愿隊，人數(shù)達1500人，這些美國志愿者被分配至40多所學(xué)校和大學(xué)，甚至幼兒園做義務(wù)服務(wù)。 

陜西翻譯界，幾乎所有的專家、學(xué)者都是陜西翻譯協(xié)會的優(yōu)秀會員，其中大部分人能用英語交流，并作為志愿者接待來自美國的環(huán)球志愿隊。陜西翻譯協(xié)會還被授權(quán)承擔(dān)全省翻譯系列職稱評審工作，被公安、民政、公證部門指定為唯一的涉外函件翻譯機構(gòu)，如護照、駕照、營業(yè)執(zhí)照、邀請函、推薦信、婚姻證明、法院判決、戶口本、協(xié)議合同等。

2004年11月，在中國譯協(xié)第5次代表大會上，陜西翻譯協(xié)會被評為省級“優(yōu)秀團體會員”第一名。

Brief to STA

Founded in 1980, Shaanxi Translators’ Association (STA) is the earliest translation Academic organization in China with over 2000 current members majored in 15 different languages. As a non-profit, non-governmental organization, STA has been devoting themselves to academic researches, foreign exchanges and variety of public welfare since 1980, such as Global Volunteers program, which has been jointly adventured by GV organization in Minnesota, USA and STA in China for almost 10 years. In the past 10 years STA has hosted over 100 American teams with 1500 American members in Xi’an who were assigned to over 40 different schools and colleges even the kindergartens to offer their volunteers service. Almost every scholar and expert in translation fields in this province is the active and outstanding member of STA. Most of them are English speakers and work as volunteers to host GV teams. STA is also authorized to act for the judgment of Translation Academic Title in this province and appointed to be the sole institution by the police station, the notary public office and civil administration as well to contract to translate the foreign documents including passport, driver’s license, business license, invitation letter, recommendation letter, certificate of martial status, court judgment, resident-booklet contract and agreement, etc. STA was awarded the first place of “ National Excellent Group Member” by Translation Association of China in Beijing in November 2004, on the fifth National Congress of TAC.
